    I am not going to argue the merits of why I believe the earth is flat. The majority of people already believe that.

    I can explain this. Local TV Stations generally reflect the values of their audience. It’s in their financial self-interest not to offend the people that watch them. What’s surprising here isn’t that the station VP has a creationist view. It’s that he risked the station’s image by sharing them.

    I know that our local station is largely made up of hardcore conservatives. It wouldn’t surprise me if some of them are creationists. But you wouldn’t know it you watched them. Their goal is to project a centrist image and not reveal their personal opinions, and they do it well.
