Mainly, how could someone who was so bad at her job keep it for so long? In Salon, I give the historical perspective. / October 19, 2013Just because they comprehend science does not mean they agree with it. I fully understand the positions of evolution, but disagree with it. And I understand evolution more than most people I know that believe in it. 🙂

/ October 19, 2013Excellent point. I think many evolution dissenters learn lots more about evolutionary science than do folks who don’t really care about evolution. Liberty University, for instance, mandates (or at least they used to) coursework in evolution. My state university does not.

/ October 30, 2013This isn’t so surprising to me. As I said over at the original article, the demographics drawn to the Tea Party seem to be demographics that would value science education: white middle-class, older sets, people who liked to do the responsible and practical thing. Am I the only one who thinks that sounds like every engineering, physics, and mathematics class (well, except for the older age) I sat in while doing my BS in math?
